For The Next Generation

WHO AM I?
I was not raised in a Christ-centered home but came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in my mid-teens. It happened at a Gospel-centered ministry that was primarily geared to reaching youth. Marriage and children caused many of us great concern about the education of our children. We lobbied our pastor to start a Christian school and he was fully on board. I was enjoying a successful career in sales and supported the school prayerfully and financially. I also served as the assistant pastor on a voluntary basis.
A few years later, it looked like we were going to have to close the school because of a change in leadership. My first child was but a baby, but I wasn't ready for us to give up on this vision so quickly. I was sitting in my easy chair one evening and praying over the situation and out of nowhere, I blurted out "We won't close the school I'll take it!". I left my job, assumed responsibility for the school and a few years later, became the lead pastor and served in both positions for 15 years.
Since then, God has graciously allowed me to be involved in four Christ-centered para-church organizations. This expanded my sphere of influence and allowed me to touch more lives than ever before. It also caused my passion for Christian education—for reaching the next generation—to become even stronger. In particular, serving at Summit Ministries changed my thinking in many ways. It opened my eyes to the importance of applying II Corinthians 10:3-5 in every facet of ministry.
I've learned many things in church and school ministry and para-church work through the years. It is my earnest prayer that God will use these experiences to bless your ministry and bring glory to His name.

My wife Mary and I have been married since 1983. We are blessed with three daughters, two sons-in-law and one granddaughter. We lived in Idaho most of our lives, spent a combined total of ten years in Arizona and Iowa and moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 2013.
