"I believe a reasonable argument can be made that no generation of Christians in the West has lived through a set of cultural changes so profound and lightning-fast"

David Kinnaman said this about the millennial generation in You Lost Me (2011). How much more does this apply to Gen Z now and to Gen Alpha in the coming years?

Riding on the back of these cultural changes is a proliferation of worldviews opposed to the historic Christian faith. Add a dose of increased skepticism and decreasing respect for Christianity and you have a recipe for losing a generation. 

​

Some Bible commentators believe that four generations are represented in Psalm 78:6-9. Regardless, the point is that God cares greatly about transmitting His truth to each generation. So do you! And caring enlists you as a soldier on the frontlines of this epic battle.

Epic, but not unwinnable! We fight the same defeated foe as in all earlier generations. But technology makes him more nimble and ubiquitous than ever.

​

This doesn’t mean that we need to know everything about everybody that is going on everywhere in the world every day. Nor do we need to become articulate apologists or worldview specialists. We simply must be vigilant, knowledgable, and ready to change our approach as needed. 

​

It is my prayer that For the Next Generation will serve as your arsenal in this battle. I’ll never pretend to know all the answers. My goal is to encourage, equip and empower all who are faithfully fighting this battle.
